The Department of British, North American, and Anglophone Literatures and Cultures would like to cultivate close relations with its alumni.  In addition to providing a way for many current and former staff and students to keep in touch and network, we hope that close alumni relations might provide current students and recent graduates with an opportunity to see what others in similar academic positions have done with their careers.

Our first step in this direction is the establishment of a group on the Xing platform.

We of course realize that not everyone will want to run out and create a Xing profile, so we have set up a list of alumni, where graduates and former staff can enter name, employer, website, and any contact information they wish to make available (this list will be made available as soon as we have begun collecting data from former students and staff). Visitors to this site can thus get a quick overview of where our graduates have gone, or simply find someone they have lost touch with over the years. One could also use this resource for networking or for finding a former student or staff member who is/has been in a similar career situation, someone who might be able to provide some good employment advice, for example.
