Alumni

The Department of British, North American, and Anglophone Literatures and Cultures would like to cultivate close relations with its alumni.  In addition to providing a way for many current and former staff and students to keep in touch and network, we hope that close alumni relations might provide current students and recent graduates with an opportunity to see what others in similar academic positions have done with their careers.

Our first step in this direction is the establishment of a group on the Xing platform, the "social network for business professionals."  The group's name: "Alumni der Anglistik, Amerikanistik und Anglophonen Kulturen der Universität des Saarlandes" (http://www.xing.com/net/alumni_angl_amer_uni_saar).

Xing provides many ways for people and organizations to connect, while giving each user the right to restrict the amount of private information made available/visible to other users. We of course realize that not everyone will want to run out and create a Xing profile, so we will be setting up a simple list of alumni in the coming weeks and months, where graduates can enter name, employer, website, and any contact information they wish to make available. Visitors to this site can thus get a quick overview of where our graduates have gone, or simply find someone they have lost touch with over the years.
