MuTra PhD School is a structured international part-time doctoral program within Saarland University’s Graduate Center GradUS. Its objective is to coach post-graduate students in research methodology by providing guidelines based on natural science thought and methodologies to solve liberal arts problems. It thematically centers around translation in all its forms, i.e. interpreting, translating (intra- and interlingual) as well as hybrid multidimensional translation. Its wider spectrum extends to a broad range of cultural studies with a focus on the comparative and transfer dimensions of linguistics, literature, subtitling, audiodescription and written interpretation. It is taught in German and English with reference to a variety of European languages.
