Protestant theology (B.A.)

Programme schedule

In the early phase of the Bachelor’s degree programme, the main focus is on establishing a firm methodological and academic basis. To achieve these goals students will attend lecture courses, introductory seminars and exercise classes in the exegesis of Old Testament  and New Testament scripture, historical and systematic theology, and religious education.

In the later phases, students will acquire a deeper understanding of relevant theological knowledge in the various theological disciplines as well as in religious studies. Students will also receive encouragement and support in their own personal examination of and interaction with religious and ideological modes of thought. Depending on their particular career goals, students will select areas of specialization and are encouraged to develop an interdisciplinary approach to their studies. The practical relevance of their studies is underscored by the practical training and work experience projects that students undertake and the supervised evaluation of the knowledge and experience thereby gained.
