Comparative linguistics, literary studies and translation (VSLT, Bachelor)

Main subject:

The interdisciplinary programme ‘Comparative linguistics, literary studies and translation’ covers linguistic and cultural characteristics within Europe and within those countries of the world that have been influenced by European linguistic and cultural heritage, with emphasis primarily placed on language and cultural transfer. The goal of the degree programme is to make knowledge and information from one linguistic and cultural region accessible to others outside of that area, by studying the process of transfer between languages, cultures and academic disciplines. The programme aims to teach students the fundamental concepts and methods needed to examine and understand the subject of language and cultural exchange. In the third semester, students choose whether to specialize in comparative literature studies or comparative linguistics. The programme offers additional modules that enable students to acquire key qualifications and world-of-work skills.
