Romance culture and intercultural communication with special emphasis on France (IK)
Main subject:
The Bachelor’s programme ‘Romance culture and intercultural communication with special emphasis on France’ aims to provide graduates with:
- a broad understanding of the principles and methods used in studying intercultural communication and their application to issues of interest in cultural and media studies, coupled with a deeper appreciation of the culture, media, society and language of the francophone world;
- the methodological skills in cultural and media studies to enable them to individually develop and evaluate topics and to recognize their significance within the wider context of the subject;
- a high degree of proficiency in the French language and excellent intercultural skills with respect to French culture;
- the ability to work autonomously in developing new questions and areas of interest and the skills needed to communicate and present these ideas effectively;
- a high level of information and media literacy, good presentation, communication and problem-solving skills.
Students with Romance culture and intercultural communication as their main subject must spend at least five months in a French-speaking country either studying or on work placement.
