The Studienkolleg is an institution of the Saarland University. Foreign students who want to study in Germany can obtain:

1. the necessary German language proficiency
2. the necessary language proficiency and technical  and scientific knowledge (for students who have to take the „Feststellungsprüfung“ = Assessment Test).

The Studienkolleg offers the following exams:

• Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang (DSH): German language proficiency test for foreign students
• Feststellungsprüfung (FSP): Assessment Test

Other than most German Studienkollegs, we can admit students without any knowledge of German as our courses cover all language levels from absolute beginners to high proficiency learners that will soon pass the DSH exam.

If you wish to participate in our courses, you have to apply for your specific University studies and the course at the Studienkolleg at the same time.

Students in exchange programmes and students from abroad studying in Saarbrücken for one or two semesters can also participate in our courses. They need to talk to the International Office regarding their admission.

Should you have no previous knowledge of German when you come to the Studienkolleg, we can give you an introduction to our courses in the following languages: Arabic, English, French, Polish, Russian, Spanish.
