Welcome to the website of the industrial and organizational psychology group at Saarland University!

Industrial and organizational psychology (I/O psychology) is an applied field in psychology that has gained more and more relevance during the last years. I/O psychologists strive at describing, analyzing, explaining, predicting and improving people’s experiences and behaviors at the workplace. I/O psychologists often work in human resources departments or consulting companies and are typically responsible for personnel selection, training and development, and organization development interventions.

The research of the industrial and organizational psychology group at Saarland University deals primarily with issues of personnel selection, time management, and job insecurity including layoffs.
