Which additional events are organised by
"GradUS global"?

Several kinds of events are regularly organized by "GradUS global" to the project participants:

  • "GradUS global" Project Colloquia
    ...are interdisciplinary project colloquia/meetings of
    "GradUS global", which are organized once every semester (usually in April and October). The project colloquia aim to bring all involved doctoral researchers and Ph.D. supervisors from all fields together and usually take place in the new Saarland University Graduate Centre. During the project colloquia, presentations on interesting research topics or on mobility experiences can be given; and the project participants are invited to network in an informal way about various topics.

  • Workshops/Courses on Disciplinary or Scientific Skills
    ...are regularly offered or funded by

  • Workshops/Courses on Transdisciplinary or General Skills
    ...are regularly offered or funded by

  • "GradUS global" Distinguished Guest Lectures
    ...consist of a series of guest talks by renowned foreign scientists who are invited to Saarland University by participants of
    "GradUS global". The talks of these scientists are meant to be of interest to a broader audience and not only draw the attention of a restricted target group. All project participants are invited to participate in those "GradUS global" Distinguished Guest Lectures irrespective of the field in which they conduct research.

  • Visits of Institutes/Laboratories and Enterprises
    ...are regularly organised by
    "GradUS global" and are open to all interested doctoral researchers and Ph.D. supervisors at Saarland University. The visits are targeted at institutes/laboratories from Saarland University and other research institutions and at enterprises or institutions in the greater region. They are meant to foster interdisciplinary exchange and networking with important employers/enterprises in the greater region. In addition, the visits should enable the participants to learn about the technologies and methods used by those institutions/enterprises.

  • "Meet & Greet" Programme
    Everything but work" – The Meet & Greet programme aims to foster social connections between doctoral and postdoctoral researchers at Saarland University and adjacent research institutes across all disciplines and countries. Each event features a cultural highlight accompanied by an informal get-together. Good movies, concerts, theater, sports events, excursions etc. will be on the menu – all in English!   • "GradUS global" Supervisors' Workshops
    ...are workshops which are organised once each year (typically in September) for the participating Ph.D. supervisors. The workshops aim at dealing with questions on the supervision of international doctoral researchers and on strategies or methods regarding the internationalisation of Ph.D. research.
