Research Archive "Romantic Anthropology"
The research archive is lodged at the Universitaet des Saarlandes (Saarbruecken) and is open for all researchers (please make an appointment in advance).
In its database you can find 3511 books, journals and essays, among them 515 which were published in German speaking countries between 1800 and 1850 and contain words like „Anthropologie“ or „Menschenkunde“ in their titles. The database also contains detailed tables of contents for 43 anthropological journals. On the book shelves you will find more than 1200 books and essays (mostly xerocopies) of anthropological texts published on German throughout the 19th century.
