Welcome on the website of our workgroup EpiGenetics.
Our group investigates mechanisms of epigenetic inheritance regulation.
Epigenetic mechanisms are transmitted through secondary modifications of
chromosomes. DNA-Methylation and a set of complex histone modifications
play a central role as heritable chromosomal marks which affect the
regulation of many biological processes.
Epigenetics provides new concepts for the understanding of genetic regulation and is of great importance for all biological systems and biomedical research.
