Program of Study

Summary

You will begin the ATLANTIS Program at your home institution, either UdS or LTU, enrolled as a Bachelor Student in the local Materials Science/Mechanical Engineering program. The first two years will be spent building up core knowledge of Materials Science and Engineering, as well as essential language skills.

In your third year, you will spend one semester at LTU and one semester at UdS where you will be introduced to the fundamentals of Mechanical Engineering and advanced Materials Science concepts. During the third year, you will need to apply for admission to the Professional Engineering School in Mechanical Engineering at Oregon State University.

The fourth and final year of the program will be spent at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. There you will complete the degree requirement for a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.

Oregon State UniversityOregon State University (Corvallis, Oregon) is the foremost engineering school in Oregon, having graduated 28,000 engineers since its inception in 1885. Mechanical Engineering is the oldest of the engineering schools at OSU, and Materials Science is an interdisciplinary program spanning many of the University's engineering and science departments. Over 40 faculty members and 100 graduate students currently participate in materials research at OSU.
