Airflow-dependent models for virtual sensing of thermal comfort,
Proceedings of "5th Vienna Symposium on Mathematical Modelling (MATHMOD 2006)", Paper 61, ARGESIM-Verlag, Vienna, Austria, February 2006.

Abstract:
This contribution describes a methodology of modeling thermal comfort in air-conditioned rooms including spatially varying air temperature and velocity. The models are designed to be used as real-time virtual sensors in a thermal comfort control loop. With regard to airflow modeling, the dilemma between computational efficiency and sufficient accuracy is solved by combining concentrated models of the room’s boundaries with airflow data gained offline from highly resolved CFD simulations.
