Welcome to EUSMAT

EUSMAT stands for European School of Materials, it is an institution situated on campus of Saarland University at the Materials Science Department.

We are:

  • Coordinating international study programs, internships, confrences and exchanges
  • Creating a worldwide network of partner universities, patner industries and institutions
  • Offering international education and research in the field of Material Science
  • Supporting students' and researchers' mobility with different types of scholarships and contributions

Prof. Mücklich in the board of directors of International Metallographic Society (ASM, USA)

Prof. Frank Mücklich, chairman of EUSMAT and Professor for Functional Materials at Saarland University, was called in the Board of Directors of the International Metallographic Society (ISM, USA). The ISM is part of the American Society of Materials (ASM), which is the worldwide largest society for Materials Science.

Prof. Mücklich is the currently the only non-American member and feels very honored to be part of this important organization and wants to improve the cooperation between Europe and the USA, especially in the field of metallography.

He was now presented in the  Newsletter of the International Society of Metallographic and talks about his experiences with international and worldwide cooperation and the role of EUSMAT.

International Materials Research Meeting in the Greater Region (6th- 7th April 2017)

The European School of Materials organizes the “International Materials Research Meeting in the Greater Region - Current Trends in the Characterisation of Materials and Surface Modification” which takes place from 6th to 7th April 2017.

The ? invites all researchers of the Greater Region and their partners of the different cooperation activities, like the EEIGM program, the 'Erasmus Mundus' Advanced Materials Science and Engineering Master programme (AMASE), the 'Erasmus Mundus' Doctoral Programme in Materials Science and Engineering (DocMASE) and the CREATe-Network.
