Preparing your stay

Saarland University’s Welcome Center has all the information on how to enrol, find accommodation, German classes, life in the Saarland in general and the university’s intercultural programme.

Transcript of Records (ToR)

At the Department of Language Science and Technology, your lecturers will forward your exam results to the Erasmus Office. No other certificates will be issued. For classes you attend at other departments of Saarland University, you will need to obtain a certificate ("Schein") and email it to the Erasmus Office.

Once we have received all your grades (or certificates) and entered them into the ToR, your ToR will be forwarded to the International Office for signing. You will receive a copy of your signed ToR by email. The original document will be sent to your home address by post.

Should you be leaving Germany before having received all your grades or certificates, please let your lecturers know and ask them to forward the certificates to us. We will send you the original certificates alongside the ToR.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Please note that it may take up to two weeks until your Transcript of Records is ready. Please find out well in advance by when you will have to submit your Transcript of Records to your home university. Please forward us your home university’s deadlines and make sure that we have all the certificates ahead of time so we may complete your ToR.

Application

If you belong to one of the universities listed under partner universities, please make sure you contact your home university’s Erasmus Coordinators first. They will provide you with all the necessary information.

Should you not belong to any of the above universities, please contact Ms Adolphe, née Saunier (International Office of Saarland University). She will decide whether you can be accepted as a free mover and inform you of any necessary formal steps.
