Application Procedure


1. Online Application

Download the application form (or in PDF) and fill in your data.


Important! Candidates applying for GSSP: If you are selected by the DocMASE-Programme, you will have to apply additionally through the DAAD-Portal in December. See further information here: Guidelines and Information for Applicants from Abroad


2. Certificates and other documents

For the application, scans of the original Master's degree as well as scans of certificates of previous studies indicating courses and examination results (diploma supplement if available) will be enough. If it is not already mentioned on your certificate, please add an explanation of the grades showing the place of the highest and lowest score. Please be aware that we need your documents in one of the languages spoken at the universities you apply for, or in English. If a translation is necessary, this applies already for the scanned documents that you send us.

If accepted to the programme, you’ll have to show originals or certified copies of the documents to the responsible at your host university.


The documents you’ll have to prepare for your application are:


  • A curriculum vitae including list of publications (if available)
  • A motivation letter
  • 2 letters of recommendation from your home universities (should be scanned and upload in your online application)
  • Certificates of previous studies indicating courses and examination result
  • Proof of sufficient English knowledge and of other relevant language
  • A  scanned copy of passport or national ID card



3. Completion of the application:
