A proper formatting is essential for academic purposes. Eventually, the layout is also part of your bachelor or master thesis grade. Without appropriate technical knowledge on how to format your thesis quickly and efficiently this can be a cumbersome and time-consuming task.
Thus, this workshop focuses on the step-by-step development of a professional layout for academic texts. It also includes how to present figures, tables, formulas, quotes and other factors.

To be able to immediately put this new knowledge to use, it is recommended to use a laptop with a current version of Microsoft Word installed.

Learning objectives:
The participants will learn:

  • Creating a basic layout: editing page margins, inserting pages numbers, define template formats,
  • Improving visual clarity: working with figures, inserting and editing of tables, inserting of auto-numbering formulas,
  • Quoting correctly: insertion of sources and quotes, foot- and endnotes and cross-references,
  • How to create indexes: creating a table of content, a bibliography, a list of figures and tables and a list of abbreviations and formulas.

The tutor will be happy to answer any questions that you might have.
