The SARPA programme is offered in two versions depending on the country in which the students wish to pursue their careers:

  • Version A is for students who are primarily interested in obtaining a French professional qualification but who have a basic command of the German language and want to acquire a better understanding of German law.
  • Version B is designed for students of law at Saarland University who have very high proficiency in French but whose primary objective is to obtain a German professional qualification.
Version A

This version provides participants with a solid grounding in the German language and in German law. Students undertake an intensive course of postgraduate training. They spend a year studying at the Centre Juridique Franco-Allemand (CJFA) where they receive German language tuition and are taught about German law. The CJFA at Saarland University is the only bilingual university institution worldwide that covers both French and German law.

Version B

Students who chose to take this version of the programme spend the first year on the European Master's degree programme European and International Law (LL.M.) run by Saarland University's Europa-Institut where they acquire the knowledge necessary to permit them to participate in the second year of study in France. They subsequently complete the Master 2 'Comparative Public Law' at the Université Paris II (Panthéon-Assas).
