Saarbrücken is one of the top addresses in Germany for studying business administration and business economics. As far back as 2003, the German Centre for Higher-Education Development (CHE) recognized the quality of the research being conducted at Saarland University giving it an excellent ranking across nearly all performance indicators. In the research ranking exercise conducted by the German Economic Review in 2008, Saarland University was ranked fourth for business administration and first for accounting, taxation and auditing. The latest research ranking published by the business quarterly ZFKE confirms the university's status: from a total of 122 institutions, Business Administration at Saarland University was ranked second in the field SMEs/​Entrepreneurship.
