About us

The vision

The caMPlusQ cycle of innovation
Innovationszyklus des caMPlusQ

Our aim is to set up, via the research campus, a cycle of transfer from which industry and science benefit in equal measure. Innovations of basic research are supposed to be quickly incorporated into the development of new products. Furthermore, the scientists of Saarland University and of the participating institutes will take on problems from the industry and look for solutions in joint research projects.

The overall process chain from basic research to the development of new materials up to the application in innovative products is supposed to be represented within the research campus. Only in doing so, the knowhow from science can be transferred into the materials, processes and systems of industry. In turn, the resulting findings influence the transfer cycle and help to frame new research aims together with the industry.

The companies will be able to recruit highly qualified personnel by early supporting young scientists and by involving students in the joint projects. Furthermore, the research campus will establish an extra-occupational qualification that will be individually brought into line with the industry‘s requirements.

The premises

Initially, the rooms and technology of caMPlusQ are set up in the buildings of Fraunhofer IZFP (building of AQS) and of INM – Leibniz Institute for New Materials (building of NMO). In the medium term, caMPlusQ strives for an own new building on the campus of Saarland University. Personnel from science and industry that belongs to caMPlusQ, will collaborate at the projects in the premises.
