Sonderprogramm Schulabsolventen Ukraine 2022

For summer semester 2023, Saarland University will again offer a special programme for pupils who had to flee Ukraine.
The special programme is aimed exclusively at pupils who:

  • will graduate from school in 2022 after 11 years of school and will receive the "Svidoctvo pro zdobuttja povnoji zahal'noji serednoji osvity" and are interested to study in Germany

                and

  • who are registered as refugees in Saarland and who live in Saarland.


The application procedure is done fully online, it is not necessary to send any documents by post or to get any additional certification of your diplomas.
The following documents are required for the application (as PDF):

  • Passport or ID card
  • Your school leaving certificate from 2022 in Ukrainian original language and a (simple) translation into German or English (Svidoctvo pro zdobuttja povnoji zahal'noji serednoji osvity)
  • Your proof that you are registered as a refugee
  • Your proof of residence in Saarland (i.e. the confirmatino of city registration "Meldebestätigung")

Application deadline: 31.01.2023

The application is currently closed. Information about whether and how the programme will be continued in the future will be posted on this website in due time.


Please note:

Applications cannot be processed if:

  • the place of residence is in another federal state or abroad,

  • the school leaving examination has been completed before  2022

  • the school education has been obtained in a country other than Ukraine.

Study possibilites

There are three tracks of the programmre that you can apply for. Please note that only one application is possible. So please select the field of study you are interested in:

VSU BWL - Preparation course for the Bachelor Program of Business Studies (Betriebswirtschaftslehre)

The preparatory course "VSU BWL" will prepare you for studies in the Bachelor Programme in Business Administration ("Betriebswirtschaftslehre").
This preparation is divided into the language preparation and the one-year higher education access course ("Probestudium").
Students in the VSU BWL programme first take part in intensive language courses and have to learn the German up to a subject-related language certificate for the study of business administration (no DSH is acquired). At the same time, you will participate in tutorial lectures to aquire knowledge of the basics of economics and mathematics.
After completing the language exam, you can then begin the one-year higher education access course. During this first year, you will already actively participate in lectures of the Bachelor of Business Administration and you will also write exams at the end of the semester.
After successfully passing the higher education access course, you will then receive an admission specifically for the Bachelor of Business Administration at Saarland University.

VSU Geisteswissenschaften - Preparation course for Bachelor programmes in the area Humanities

The preparation course "VSU Geisteswissenschaften" (VSU Humanities) will prepare you for studies in an open-admission Bachelor programme at the philosophical faculty (Humanities).
This preparation course is divided into the language preparation and the one-year higher education access course ("Probestudium").
Students in the VSU Geisteswiss. programme first take part in intensive language courses and have to learn the German language up to a subject-related language certificate for the study of Humanities (no DSH is acquired). At the same time, you will participate in tutorial lectures to acquire knowledge of the basics of studies in Humanities.
After completing the language exam, you can then begin the one-year higher education access course. During this first year, you will already actively participate in lectures of the chosen Bachelor programme and you will also write exams at the end of the semester.
After successfully passing the higher education access course, you will then receive an admission specifically for the chosen Bachelor programme at Saarland University.

VSU MINT - Preparation course for the Program "Bachelor Plus MINT"

The preparatory course "VSU MINT" will prepare you for studies in the programme "Bachelor Plus MINT".
This preparation is divided into the language preparation and the one-year higher education access course ("Probestudium").
Students in the VSU MINT programme first take part in intensive language courses and have to learn the German language up to a subject-related language certificate for the study of the Bachelor Plus MINT (no DSH is acquired). At the same time, you will participate in tutorial lectures to aquire knowledge of the basics of physics and mathematics.
After completing the language exam, you can then begin the one-year higher education access course. During this first year, you will already actively participate in lectures of the Bachelor Plus MINT and you will also write exams at the end of the semester.
After successfully passing the higher education access course, you will then receive an admission specifically for the Bachelor Plus MINT at Saarland University.

You do not fulfill the criteria to apply?

If you have graduated earlier (before the year 2022) or you did not attend a Ukrainian school or do not live in Saarland, you cannot apply for this special programme.

However, you can apply for a regular degree programme. You will find all the information you need on our website for international applicants.

Additional information on school leaving certificate

If you cannot present your school leaving certificate (graduation year 2022), you can get information about this certificate from the state enterprise "Inforesurs" (only in Ukrainian language).
