Grade thresholds for admission to restricted-entry programmes

A grade threshold (referred to in German by the abbreviation 'NC' (Latin: numerus clausus) is used to indicate the number of study places available on a particular degree programme at a particular time. It is not fixed in advance, but represents the ratio between the number of study places available and the number of applicants. As grade thresholds may vary significantly from one semester to the next, you should use it simply as a means of estimating your chances of admission to a restricted-entry programme. To achieve a more reliable estimation, you should look at how the grade threshold has varied over a number of previous semesters and not just at the value for the last semester.
