Working Group "Academic English"

Working Group "Academic English"

The idea behind the working group is to offer you an opportunity to enhance your written and oral skills in scientific English to help you progress in your academic career. Doctoral researchers from all fields are invited to participate.

If you are interested in improving your scientific English to write and communicate more effectively, then you are welcome to attend our monthly meetings. During these meetings, we will discuss individual questions and issues, ranging from written text production and different text type conventions to oral presentations skills, grammar, and vocabulary.

Every meeting is designed as a complete unit and the topics for each session are tailored to your needs. You can attend the meetings on a regular basis, or you can come to individual sessions. You will benefit from a genuine and constructive feedback from the group and the tutor in an informal working atmosphere. There is no pressure to hand in any written texts or any other work. However, you are encouraged to participate actively, to think of questions related to your work, and to share these with us during the meetings.

This offer is sponsored by the DAAD project “GradUS global”.
