German Courses
German Courses "German as a Foreign Language for Doctoral Researchers"
The German language courses are open to international doctoral researchers, who want to improve their German language skills. Besides general linguistic competencies (grammar, listening comprehension, reading comprehension, writing) the courses stress common, everday situations in academic contexts, e.g., making phone calls, answering e-mails etc. Given that the courses are targeted at doctoral researchers from all subject areas, they do not teach a vocabulary restricted to a particular scientific discipline. Course materials are developed and provided by the instructors to accommodate the needs and interests of course participants.
Three courses are offered, a beginners-level* course (level A2; 3 hours per week) and an intermediate-level course (level B1/B2; 3 hours per week) in Saarbrücken as well as a course (3 hours per week) in Homburg.
The German courses are offered in cooperation with the International Office at Saarland University. Please register by October 31th, 2008 (see information below).
*no absolute beginners; requirement of at least 80 hours study in German
