Benedikt Schardt is a PhD candidate at Saarland University, where he also obtained both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. During his Master’s studies, his research focused on GPU‑accelerated parallel discrete event simulation and high‑performance simulation techniques. In his doctoral research, he focuses on system‑level support for GPU‑centric computing. His research interests include the use of SmartNICs, and filesystem support for GPUs, with the goal of accelerating and optimizing data movement in heterogeneous systems.
