In der Medizinischen Biochemie werden biochemische und molekularbiologische Prozesse im Zusammenhang mit menschlichen Krankheiten erforscht und das Fach stellt einen wichtigen vorklinischen Baustein im Medizinstudium dar. Unsere Lehrveranstaltungen bilden unsere Studierenden umfassend auf diesem Gebiet aus, so dass sie optimal auf die entsprechenden Fragen im Physikum vorbereitet werden.

We cordially invite all interested parties to our symposium on "Intracellular Membrane Systems & Beyond", which will take place on Thursday, November 12, 2026, from 9:50 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Homburg (PZMS, building 48.5, auditorium).

In addition to several internal speakers from the Departments of Medical Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Molecular & Cell Biology, and Biochemistry, we are particularly looking forward to hearing about the latest research from our external guest speakers from Göttingen (Prof. Peter Rehling/Cellular Biochemistry), Freiburg (Prof. Nikolaus Pfanner/Biochemistry & Molecular Biology), Warsaw (Prof. Agnieszka Chacinska/Molecular Mechanisms and Machines), and from Kaiserslautern (Annika Egeler/RTG 2737 STRESSistance).
