International foundation programmes – the first step on your academic journey
Are you an international student interested in studying in Saarland, Germany? For prospective students who don't yet qualify for direct access to university, international foundation programmes offer a different path. During the programme, you can complete the prerequisites needed to begin a Bachelor's at Saarland University, even without a higher education entrance qualification.

It's time to think big about sustainability
At Saarland University we want to drive innovative research, raise awareness of sustainability issues and show how socially and economically responsible behaviour yields positive outcomes. Social responsibility and sustainability are now a core part of our university culture.

Saarland University says no to discrimination
Strengthening diversity and inclusion at Saarland University is a core principle that is firmly anchored in our university development plan. Discrimination, harassment and violence have no place at Saarland University. We aim to create a workplace and study environment that promotes diversity, equality of opportunity and tolerance. We offer all members of the university – students and employees – a full range of services to support those who have been affected by discrimination and to counter all forms of discriminatory conduct.
