Check list for your first semester at Saarland University
To help you prepare for your studies, the Central Student Advisory Service put together a checklist about important study-related matters. Whether student ID card, preparatory courses or timetable, this list helps you make sure you’ve thought of everything.
During introductory courses (also called orientation units), you receive information that help you settle in to university. During these courses, you have the chance to ask questions, get to know fellow students and meet your teachers and the students’ representatives of the student community.
During the mentoring programme of Saarland University, you receive valuable advice on studying in the first semester from experienced students. These mentors will be your personal contact persons: they will show you how to find your way around campus and answer all your questions concerning studies and student life.
The AStA Study Guide
Every year, the General Student Committee (AStA) puts together a guide containing tips and tricks on all study-related matters. This is where you find your most important contact persons and contact points, a lot of tips on how to successfully master your studies and information on activities you can do outside the classroom.
The International Study Centre Saar (ZiS), which you can find in our Welcome Center, supports students from all around the world during student orientation. We organize various joint activities and a buddy programme to help you meet other students.
