University Senate

The Senate is the central regulatory body for Saarland University. It performs important supervisory functions. Among other things, the Senate is responsible for:

• Decisions in matters of research and teaching that affect the entire University or central institutions
• The conferring of academic honours by the University
• Participation in the election of the University President
