Onboarding for first-semester students: LSF, Moodle and MS teams

Dear New Students,

How to begin your studies at Saarland University? At the start of the 2025/26 winter semester, we will introduce you to three essential learning platforms: LSF (course portal), Microsoft Teams (chat-based collaboration space), and Moodle (learning management system). These are the main digital tools used for teaching at Saarland University (UdS).

The following hybrid sessions (available on-site and online) will be offered in German, English, French, and Chinese. Each session provides step-by-step introductions to the platforms, followed by a Q&A session.

• Monday, October 6, 2025 – GERMAN: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • 10:00 a.m. – LSF + Moodle: First steps and Q&A
  • 11:00 a.m. – MS Teams: Getting started and "Questions & Answers" (Q&A)
• Tuesday, October 7, 2025 – FRENCH: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • 10:00 a.m. – LSF + Moodle: First steps and Q&A
  • 11:00 a.m. – MS Teams: Getting started and "Questions & Answers" (Q&A)
• Wednesday, October 8, 2025 – ENGLISH: 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • 2:00 p.m. – LSF + Moodle: First steps and Q&A
  • 3:00 p.m. – MS Teams: Getting started and "Questions & Answers" (Q&A)
• Thursday, October 9, 2025 – CHINESE: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • 10:00 a.m. – LSF + Moodle: First steps and Q&A
  • 11:00 a.m. – MS Teams: Getting started and "Questions & Answers" (Q&A)
• Friday, October 10, 2025 – GERMAN: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

You are welcome to log in to MS Teams before the session (desktop version recommended). Your username is your UdS-ID followed by @uni-saarland.de. If you have not yet received your UdS ID and password by post from the HIZ, you can still join the session without logging in.
