Brief biography
Dr. Monika Frenger is a post-doctoral researcher at the Chair of Sport Sociology/Sport Economics at Saarland University. Her research focuses on doping, corruption and integrity in sport, football market value analyses, volunteer engagement, and programme evaluation – including collaborations with the German Football Association (DFB).
She teaches in Bachelor’s, Master’s and teacher-training programmes, covering statistics/methodology, sport sociology, evaluation and snow sports. She also teaches on the distance learning MBA course in Motorsport/Sports and Innovation Management at Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences and at the Scheer School in Saarbrücken.
Her practical involvement in sports and social engagement is reflected in her many years of volunteer work, including as head of the triathlon department and chair of the club council at 1. FC Kaiserslautern e.V., as well as in her roles as a coach and trainer in various sports.
