Calogero Pagliarello Foundation

The foundation was established from the estate of Mr. Calogero Pagliarello in the interest of promoting research and study in the field of medicine. The purpose of the foundation is realized through the annual awarding of the

Calogero Pagliarello Award for outstanding achievements

to one or more medical students and/or one or more doctoral students who have distinguished themselves through particularly outstanding performance in examinations and/or doctoral studies, as well as the

Calogero Pagliarello Research Prize

to one or more doctors and/or one or more scientists who have rendered outstanding services in the field of incurable diseases, such as AIDS or cancer, by developing a drug, a treatment method, a surgical procedure or in a similar way.

Application process

The application must include the following documents:

• Informal application to the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine
• Curriculum vitae with detailed professional background
• Current list of publications (offprints of up to five selected articles)
• Copy of degree certificate (only for the study award)

The award is announced by the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Medicine. Applications should be sent to the
