Prof. Dr. Fabian Hollstein

At this year’s graduation ceremony of the Department of Business and Economics on Friday, July 10, 2026, the award for outstanding teaching by academic staff in the 2025 summer semester and the 2025/2026 winter semester was awarded to Anna van Nooy.

As of July 1, 2026, the name of our chair has changed to “Empirical Finance and Econometrics.” This title reflects our areas of focus much more accurately. Our teaching and research activities remain unaffected by this change.

The oral examinations in Advanced Econometrics will take place on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, starting at 9:00 a.m.

The Working Paper "Explanations for Cross-Sectional Return Anomalies: Evidence on the IVOL Puzzle" authored by Fabian Hollstein (jointly with L. Kowalke and M. Prokopczuk from Leibniz University Hannover) has been accepted for publication in Financial Management.

The Working Paper "Factor Pricing Across Asset Classes" authored by Fabian Hollstein (jointly with T. D. Dang and M. Prokopczuk from Leibniz University Hannover) has been accepted for publication by the Journal of Empirical Finance.

Prof. Dr. Fabian Hollstein together with Prof. Dr. Maik Dierkes, Prof. Dr. Marcel Prokopczuk and Dr. Christoph Würsig, received a Special Prize from the Deutsche Bundesbank for scientific publications in the field of economics for the paper Measuring Tail Risk.
