Ethical Review Board
The ethical review board of the faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at Saarland University evaluates and, if necessary, takes a position on ethical aspects of planned research projects involving human subjects and personal data. The responsibility of the scientist in charge remains untouched.
Every scientist of the faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science can apply for an ethics vote. Submitting an application is particularly recommended for experiments which involve potential risks for the participants, or for studies in which participants are not entirely informed about the purpose and procedure of the study. Applications may be submitted at any time. The ethical review boards and its members are independent concerning the safeguarding of their duties and not bound by any directions. They are only responsible to their conscience.
To submit a proposal please send the completed basic questionnaire together with a short summary of your project/study to the ethics commission by e-mail: erb-submission(at)milaman.cs.uni-saarland.de
The work of the Ethical Review Board is subject to the legal requirements of the data protection law of Saarland and the ethischen Richtlinien der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Psychologie e.V., each in their current version.
