Julius Athenstaedt is a Ph.D. candidate at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. He started his Ph.D in 2026 after receiving his B.Sc. from TU Dresden and M.Sc. degree in computer science with an emphasis on physics from the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany. The topic of his master thesis was "Performance comparison between system call intercept and FUSE for GekkoFS", which remains an active interest of his. His other research interests include file system development, Linux kernel and computational physic simulations on high performance computers.
