About

Articulated in the current University Development Plan, the institutional identity of the Saarland University is defined according to three main areas of research and teaching: “NanoBioMed – Life and Matter”, “Computer Sciences” and “European Studies”. The NanoBioMed area is characterized by its emphasis on applied research conducted across several scientific networks clustered around Nano-Biotechnology, Human and Molecular Biology and Molecular Medicine. The Competence Center Molecular Medicine (COMM) was established in 2006 in order to further strengthen the NanoBioMed area. It forms a roof structure for about 50 ambitious scientists who are conducting research in the field of Molecular Medicine.
