Here you will find information on searching for and borrowing films for courses and research projects.

Access to the film archive

Our extensive film archive is available to staff and students of the Department of Romance Languages. To research and borrow films, please use our internal database:

Note: You can only access the database within the university IT network or via an active VPN connection.

Our film database

Our database comprises:

  • over 6,000 films
  • around 1,200 documentaries
  • approx. 250 recordings of theatre performances

The database contains numerous classic films from the history of international film – with a special focus on films from the Romance-speaking world.

Loan copies

To borrow a film from our archive, please complete the following form in full.
