We are excited to announce the delivery of the Attana Cell 250 biosensor to our lab. This powerful technology enables real-time interaction studies not only on engineered extracellular matrices but also on tissue sections. With this addition, we significantly expand our analytical capabilities in biomolecular interaction research within complex and physiologically relevant environments.

Poster Award for Annika Clemenz at DGMB Annual Meeting 2025

We are thrilled to announce that our PhD student Annika Clemenz presented her research on glycocalyx manipulation for melanoma treatment at the Annual Meeting 2025 of the German Society for Matrix Biology (DGMB). Her outstanding poster presentation was honored with the Poster Award – a well-deserved recognition of her excellent work and scientific contribution. Congratulations, Annika!

State teaching award 2025 for interdisciplinary teaching team

We are proud to announce that Jun.-Prof. Dr. Sandra Rother, as part of the interdisciplinary teaching team, has been awarded the State Teaching Award 2025 for outstanding contributions to higher education. The award honors the innovative teaching concepts of the modules “Applied Food Chemistry and Microbiology” and “Nutrition and Prevention Using Obesity as an Example” at Saarland University.
The prize, endowed with €30,000, recognizes the collaborative efforts of Jun.-Prof. Dr. Sandra Rother, Prof. Dr. Dr. Sören Becker, Dr. Verena Keller, and B.Sc. Sandra Möwius, and highlights their commitment to interdisciplinary, practice-oriented academic education.

Green lab initiative - recycling cell culture bottles

We’re proud to share a great sustainability step from our lab: Our lab technician Daniela has introduced an effective way to reduce waste by recycling plastic bottles from cell culture.
