We are the Chair of Metallic Materials and conduct research into physical metallurgy, the thermodynamics and kinetics of metastable phases, and structural analysis at Saarland University.

We focus on issues relating to metallic bulk glasses, an innovative class of materials that possess exceptional properties due to their unique amorphous structure.

Our interdisciplinary team addresses both fundamental research questions and the development of new metallic bulk glasses and new processing methods such as die-casting or thermoplastic moulding.
