The START Funding Program at Saarland University supports the early academic careers of postdoctoral researchers and includes two funding lines. Both funding lines are open to all topics and are aimed at postdoctoral researchers from all disciplines.

Saarland University (USAAR) is continuing its START funding program and is opening the application phase for the second round. Until March 15, 2026, early-career researchers can submit their project ideas and look forward to funding that specifically supports scientific excellence. With START, the university is sending a clear signal for the targeted promotion of scientific talent at USAAR and creating an environment in which innovative research ideas can grow and compete internationally. The program is aimed exclusively at USAAR researchers who have completed their doctoral degree.
