FAQ

How do I sign up?

1. Registration
To book an introductory course, you must register on the UNISPORT Centre’s website:  Register here.

2. Booking an introductory course
Once you have successfully registered, choose an introductory course.
You can book the introductory course either online or in person at UNIFIT: to the introductory courses.
This introductory session lasts 90 minutes and costs a one-off fee of €18 for students and €22 for staff.

3. Becoming a member
Once you have completed the introductory course, you have the option to take out a UNIFIT membership so that you can train independently during opening hours: See our terms and conditions

Can I have a trial session?

Once you’ve successfully completed the introductory course, you can try out our gym for free for two weeks. During this trial period, you’re free to use the gym as often as you like during our opening hours.

This gives you the chance to familiarise yourself with the equipment at your own pace, get a feel for training and find out whether our gym is right for you.

Can I put my contract on hold?

Yes, under certain conditions, you can put your gym membership on hold.

You can put your membership on hold if the following conditions are met:

  • Your absence must be for at least two months.
  • The membership can only be put on hold for full calendar months (not partial months).
  • A suspension is only possible in the event of a prolonged stay abroad for university-related reasons (e.g. a semester abroad), an injury or an illness.

If you wish to put your membership on hold, please email us in good time, providing a brief explanation and supporting evidence.

How do I gain access to UNIFIT?

Yes. When booking the introductory course, you must present your UdS card at the Service Point in the UNISPORT Centre. There, it will be registered in our system and granted the appropriate access authorisation.

With your UdS card, you will then have access to the gym during our opening hours, both during the two-week trial period and after signing a gym membership contract.

If you do not have a UdS card, you can apply for a guest card at the university’s card office. The access authorisation will then be loaded onto this card.

Can I have a personalised training plan drawn up for me?

Yes, once you’ve signed up for a membership, you can have our trainers draw up training plans for you free of charge. Please speak to the reception staff or the trainers themselves to arrange an appointment.

How can I cancel my contract?

The minimum term of your fitness contract is three months.

Once the minimum term has expired, you can cancel the contract on a monthly basis, giving four weeks’ notice from the date the contract was signed. Further information can be found in the Terms and Conditions, which you will receive when you sign the contract.

You can give notice of termination either informally by email or by post. Verbal notice of termination is not permitted.

Alternatively, you can complete your notice of termination directly at the UNISPORT centre. A notice of termination form is available at reception for this purpose. Simply speak to our service staff.
