Financial aid for students
If you're experiencing financial difficulties, you're worried about your BAföG student loan or you've lost your part-time job, help is available. The following web pages offer an overview of the support programmes that you can access and explain how to apply for a refund of student fees and charges.

Free daily meals in the Mensa for students in need
Students at Saarland University who are struggling financially can get a free meal every day in the campus canteen (Mensa). The scheme is coordinated by the General Student Committee (AStA) and Saarland Student Services (Studierendenwerk). Thanks to a generous donation from the University Society (Universitätsgesellschaft des Saarlandes e.V.) and the Rotary Club Saarbrücken, many students currently facing financial hardship can now benefit from a free meal at the Mensa during the winter semester. If you would like to access this service, please get in touch with AStA (studienfinanzierung(at)asta.uni-saarland.de) to request a meal pass (Aktionskarte).
