If your exam is not in the LSF, immediately contact the examination office (Ms. Krieger, bscplusmint(at)ps-mint.uni-saarland.de).

Can I still register for an exam even after the deadline?

No. After the deadline is over you cannot register for the exam. In case that this is not your fault, please contact the examination office and proof that it is not your fault that you couldn't register in time (e.g. technical error).

How can I prove that I am ill and cannot take an exam?

If you are ill on the day of the exam, you can withdraw from the exam by submitting a doctor's note. Please submit the doctor's note to the exam office, Ms. Krieger, as soon as possible (ideally within 7 days of the exam date) (bscplusmint(at)ps-mint.uni-saarland.de).

No. If you are aiming for a bachelor's degree in two subjects, choose a major as usual and notify the examination office and the study coordination office of the second subject in which you plan to graduate.

What are the possible major subjects I can choose from?

The current list of specialization subjects can be found on the program website under the tab “main subjects” There you can also find the relevant contact persons and lecture guides.

Is there any possibility to add more major subjects to the existing list?

In principle, it is possible to expand the list of major subjects, but this involves a great deal of bureaucratic effort. Please send requests to expand the list of major subjects to the study coordination office. (Carsten Baltes, carsten.baltes(at)uni-saarland.de).

Can I change my major subject?

A change of major is not possible according to either the examination regulations or the study regulations. However, if you are at risk of losing your examination entitlement in your chosen major (e.g., due to a final failure in a compulsory course), a change can be made. To make a change, please first contact the study coordinator (Carsten Baltes, carsten.baltes(at)uni-saarland.de). You can then apply to the examination board to change your major and, with their approval, notify the examination office of your change.

Until when do I need to decide which major subject I want to choose?

The major subject must be chosen by the end of the second semester at the latest. To choose a major, please use the  following form (German) and send it, completed and signed, to Ms. Krieger at the Examination Office.

How can I get CP for voluntary work that I do outside of university?

Volunteer work (e.g., in clubs) can be credited toward your degree in the form of ECTS credits. To determine the number of ECTS credits, please send a list of your activities with approximate weekly hours, as well as confirmation from your club (or similar organization) of how long you have been pursuing these activities, to the chair of the examination board. Please note that some specializations accept ECTS credits for volunteer work. If this is not the case, these ECTS credits will be booked as part of your free credits in the general elective area Bachelor Plus MINT. Please also note that, according to the framework examination regulations of Saarland University, no more than 6 ECTS credits per degree program can be awarded for volunteer work.

The Bachelor-Plus MINT course is funded by the ‘Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft’ and the ‘Heinz Nixdorf Stiftung’ as part of the ‘Innovative Studieneingangsphase’ programme.
110 universities took part in the call for applications. Saarland University is one of the five competition winners with its Bachelor-Plus MINT degree programme.
