Graduation Ceremony FAQ
What documents will I receive when I complete my degree?
When you complete your degree, the examination office will issue you the following documents:
- transcript of records, which includes a list of all the courses you completed
- diploma supplement (course descriptions, admission requirements, curriculum information and information on careers your degree qualifies you for)
- degree certificate (official DIN A4 document that proves you have earned your degree) Once your graduation documents have been signed, they will be sent to you by post.
If you take part in the graduation ceremony, you will be given a commemorative certificate.
Is there a dress code?
Yes, please come in attire appropriate for a festive occasion. To get an idea of what type of clothing is appropriate, please see the photos from previous years on our home page.
What will happen at the ceremony?
The ceremony begins with an opening speech from the dean, followed by a speech from students or teaching staff. The ceremony will also include live music.
Graduates are invited on stage in groups, where they receive their certificates and have their photo taken with their fellow graduates. By checking the declaration of consent on the ceremony sign-up sheet, you consent to the publication of photos that are taken during the official part of the graduation ceremony.
The ceremony will be followed by a toast and light refreshments. The ceremony should last around an hour and a half.
Why can I only bring two guests?
We plan the graduation ceremony a year in advance and typically only know how many graduates will attend a few weeks before the ceremony itself.
Unfortunately, due to space constraints (the size of the venue), we have to limit the number attendees.

Where can I park the day of the ceremony?
If the ceremony takes place on the same day as Open Campus, you can use one of the car parks, but it will not be possible to drive onto campus itself. If the ceremony takes place on a different day, you can also park on campus. You will find more information on parking in the email invitation.
