This workshop will bring together researchers across the Greater Region interested in the molecular mechanisms underlying sex-specific differences in central nervous system and related diseases.
Guest speakers from University of Luxembourg and Saarland University will present their on-going projects and current status of our understanding on functional differences between
males and females, and the implications on disease on-set and progression. This will be followed by discussions with aim to develop new collaborative projects on the topic.

Speakers:
Prof Enrico Glaab (UL)
Vivien Hoof (UdS)
Johann Brand (UL)
Prof. Frank Kirchhoff (UdS)

Preliminary schedule:
12.00 - Opening remarks - Dr Lasse Sinkkonen and Prof Julia Schulze-Hentrich
12.10 - Guest talk - Prof Enrico Glaab (UL): Computational analysis of sex differences in disease-associated omics data
12.50 - Lunch break
13.30 - Student talk- Vivien Hoof (UdS): Sex-specific transcriptional changes in Parkinson’s disease at single-cell resolution
14.00 - Student talk - Johann Brand (UL): Sex-specific oxidative stress response in glial cells
14.30 - Guest talk - Prof. Frank Kirchhoff (UdS) - Title to be announced
15.15 - Coffee and discussion
