Supports

What basic services we provide?

The ALM-CF tries to help the researchers to generate reliable and quick results of any planned experiments, thus offers:

  1. Instructions on the laser safety and biosafety S2 that apply in ALM-CF;
  2. Basic but necessary introduction to the advanced imaging techniques in ALM-CF;
  3. Training on the use of the microscopes to enable independent operations of these large instruments by the researchers themselves.

Extra supports we provide

ALM-CF also offers extra supports for the researchers:

  1. Based on our extensive experiences of imaging living samples, we can also assist the researchers in planning/designing their own experiments of living cells or tissues;
  2. ALM-CF can also provide necessary but basic training for the researchers on how to process their imaging data. If necessary, researchers can also get basic training/helps for processing data with programing languages, e.g. Igor Pro, MatLab, C/C++ or python;
  3. Consultation for deep neural network (DNN) / artificial intelligence (AI)-based imaging denoising / segmentation might also be possible, upon the requests of researchers.

Consultation for building new fluorescence microscopes

We have sucessfully developed integrated controlling unit for microscopes with microcontrollers (MicroICU), and written our own software to control the microscopes (QT-Vision).

User interface of QT-Vision, the software to control the custom-built microscopes. For details, please check here.

With the rich experiences of building custom-built fluorescence microscopes, ALM-CF can also provide consultations for researchers who are interested in building their own advanced imaging systems.

We believe that all these efforts will ease the researchers of our university with the post-experiment data processing, analyzing and interpreting of their imaging data.
