Topic: Eye movements during action observation

Abstract:

Both when producing actions and when observing others’ actions, the gaze arrives at action goals before the actions are completed. The similarity between eye movements during action production and action observation suggests that observers recruit their own motor system when observing other people act (an embodied account of predictive eye movements). I will describe my work in this field, focusing on the mechanisms and the development of action prediction during observation of other people’s actions.
