I studied Business Administration (Betriebswirtschaftslehre) at Saarland University from 1999 to 2003 and did two more Masters in the USA from Berkely and Wharton. While the latter two were great for resume and network building, the foundation of what I needed to be successful in my career came from my learnings at Saarland University. I was not only soaking in knowledge across the various courses I was attending but also truly enjoyed the experience of living in Saarbrücken ‒ on and around the Saarland University campus. It shaped me as an independent thinker.

The campus is located on a beautiful hill just outside the city and is large and small at the same time. While it is known for its excellence in Computer Science, I got a very well-rounded business education at the university which has served me well in life. Today, I am the Chief Brand Marketing Evangelist of Google and fondly look back to the four years I spent at Saarland University, spending countless hours at the library and the Mensa.
