Teaching Concept

The courses offered by the Chair of Business Administration, especially Technology and Innovation Management (TIM) include courses in the Bachelor's and Master's program "Business Administration", and are supplemented by courses in the certificate program "Entrepreneurship", as well as two lectures within the framework of the start-up course series of the Gründer-Campus Saar. In terms of content, the teaching concept focuses on the topics of technology and innovation management as well as empirical research methods.

The courses offered are designed to provide students with the necessary knowledge and practical skills for the goal-oriented management of technology and innovation management processes and also to enable them to independently design and implement innovative solutions. The focus is on management and controlling tasks along the entire innovation process, the development and implementation of new technologies as well as material and service innovations, the development of new business models up to the foundation and management of new companies and other organizations.

The knowledge imparted in the courses should enable students to take on tasks in operational as well as strategic technology and innovation management (e.g. management of development, exploitation and protection of new technologies, planning of market introduction measures for the launch of new products/services, deployment and management of people and knowledge in the innovation process).
