Working with Generative AI for Students

Contents:

Generative AI is fundamentally changing the academic and professional world. Competence in using these powerful tools is quickly becoming an essential skill for students and professionals. This course connects the theoretical foundations of AI with practical, hands-on examples. The goal is to empower students to use AI tools effectively, critically, and responsibly, enabling them to navigate the evolving technological landscape and integrate these technologies into their academic work.

Main Topics:

  • Understanding generative AI: How do Large Language Models (LLMs) work?
  • Effective Application: Prompt engineering and selecting the right tool for a task
  • Practical examples
  • Critical Evaluation: Identifying and mitigating errors, hallucinations and bias
  • Academic Integrity and Rules: Navigating university guidelines on AI use
  • Legal & Ethical Frameworks: Understanding key regulations including data privacy and copyright law
